School began last week, so I've been a little slow to update the ol' blog, so I'm finally posting some old-ish pictures. Last weekend, Jessica, Ali, Mohammed and I took a two day trip down the Málaga to enjoy some relaxing beach action and some not-so-relaxing castle hiking.
The hike through Alcazaba (a fortification built by Berbers in the 11th century) up to Castillo de Gibralfaro (a 14th century Moorish palace) was not exceptionally long, but the sun and steep incline was enough to completely wipe me out. The views were worth it though.
Jessica found a Jessica-sized lookout room.
More from the top of the Gibralfaro.
We had a little trouble taking selfies with Jessica...
...luckily, friendly passers-by helped us out

Málaga is known for being the birth place of Picasso, and the Museo Picasso Málaga had a really amazing collection. However, the beach was really the high point of our trip. Now, I'm sure some people will be saying "but Steve, you were in the presence of art work from one of the greatest artists in modern history, how can you say that the beach was better???"
To that, I say: yes, you're probably right, my priorities are all mixed up. But there really is nothing quite like reclining by the sea, feeling the salty breeze, enjoying a cold cerveza that was delivered to you by a random dude with a plastic bag full of ice and drinks. I love art and am immensely grateful that I have the opportunity to experience world class art. But man, the beach. Man.
That's what I'm talking about. Touristy? Yes. Overpriced. Yes. Wonderful. Also, yes.
Oh, and we stumbled upon a fashion show and a parade of people dressed up as Romans. Why did these things happen? I have no idea.
